Yiddish Summer Weimar Open Air

Yiddish Summer Weimar invites you to its first ever evening-length, open-air mini-festival. Featuring the Shimon Peres Prize-winning Caravan Orchestra with young musicians from the Middle East and Europe, as well as some of the best bands of Yiddish Summer Weimar 2022, this concert displays the diverse but closely interwoven strands of Yiddish, Greco-Turkish, Moldavian and Middle Eastern music that enlivened Ottoman culture for hundreds of years. And what better place for such a concert than Herderplatz, directly in front of the church named for the philosopher of cultural plurality. So come and join the celebration of our festival, our city, and our shared worlds of music!
